Magda Szabo CPA, JD., LL.M. specializes in international and domestic tax and wealth planning. She is skillful in using a variety of tax structure vehicles. Drawing on her background as a tax lawyer and business advisor, Magda provides multifaceted solutions for domestic and international business entities, high net worth individuals, estate and succession planning matters; trusts, foundations; and public charities. Her experience encompasses a wide range of international and domestic matters including FIRPTA, streamlined disclosures, transfer pricing, mergers, acquisitions, hedge and private equity funds, GRATs, IDGTs, preferred interest partnerships, pre-immigration planning, and split interest trusts.
Magda has authored numerous tax articles featured in national publications on topics addressing a wide variety of issues including offshore reporting and tax minimization for trusts, business entities, & individuals, GILTI, FDII, asset protection issues and partnership tax matters. She has also been involved in IRS Comment Letters regarding Proposed Regulations as well as IRS Notices and lectures frequently on a wide variety of tax matters.
In addition to her law degree, she has a Master of Laws in Taxation, a Master’s of Accountancy and an APC in International Tax from NYU School of Law. She is barred as an attorney in New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Ohio and licensed as a certified public accountant in New York and in Ohio. She is barred and has litigated cases in U.S. Tax Court.
